Exercise Timeframe: 60 - 90 minutes
This team-based exercise teaches participants how to calculate and analyze the project's critical path, learn about fast tracking, make schedule crashing decisions, compare a network diagram to a Gantt chart and histogram display.
After analyzing the project situation the teams make schedule-related decisions. From this point forward, they will know how to determine how to make the best decisions on what project activities are the best decisions for shortening.
Instructors love this exercise because it's a complete "activity in a box", including all of the speaker notes so that instructors know exactly how to teach it in a sensible, demonstration without having to spend days creating the whole exercise. It has been going through continuous quality improvement for over seven years, and the exercise flows through a technically challenging subject very well.
